OCHOA Moscatel 2008 (500ml)
-
Pronunciation:
OAT-CHO-AH Mos-ca-tell
-
Grape:
100% Moscatel
-
Region:
Navarra, Spain (DO)
-
Elaboration:
The Moscatel grape is late harvested to achieve its full sugar concentration and aromatic potential. After de-stemming and careful crushing, the grapes are put through a pneumatic press to extract the free run juice. It then undergoes fermentation at a low temperature before cold stopping to halt the fermentation process completely.
-
Taste:
Bright golden yellow in colour, this is an outstanding dessert wine with an intoxicating aroma. Possessing a fine balance between sugar and acidity, it has an aromatic complexity that is not cloying on the palate. It is silky and fresh, highlighting the raisin flavours of the grape over a base of toasty notes.
-
Service:
Cold with appetisers (such as foie gras), fruit desserts and cured cheese.
