Ochoa Gran Reserva 2000

  • Pronunciation:

    OAT-CHO-AH

  • Grape:

    Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, single vineyard

  • Region:

    Navarra, Spain (DO)

  • Elaboration:

After fermentation at a controlled temperature in vats, the wine is matured well in excess of a year in American Oak barrels and given several rackings to ensure that the natural sediments are left behind. Once the wine is bottled, it remains in the winery to continue the aging process before being released.

  • Taste:

A garnet red cherry colour with a coppery edge, this wine has a powerful heady aroma with the full expression of an elegant aged wine. On the palate, leather, spices and minerals come together with the fruit and harmonises with the integration of the oak. The perfect blend of Cabernet adds to its structure and depth along with balsamic flavours, liquorice, fine toasty notes and excellent acidity. A fine example of a Spanish Reserva.

  • Service:

18-20°C. Best with grilled meat, duck, pork, veal, stews and cured cheeses.
